Name & Clan: Twigstripe - Tunnelclan
Age: Adult
Gender: Male (Tom)
Allegiance: Tunnelclan
Rank: Warrior
Description: Twigstripe is large for a Tunnelclan cat – he’s larger than even many Rootclan cats. A stocky, powerful warrior, Twigstripe looks the part of the barbarian. A bit of an outcast, he rarely shares tongues with the others, leaving his black and brown-striped pelt often messy. The stripes on his pelt are thin and branch every which way, giving his coat an erratic pattern. He has small copper eyes and large ears, the only brown on his face. Muscles ripple under his pelt, and he’s easily one of the strongest Tunnelclan cats. He has paws that would be horribly oversized on any other cat, but seem to fit him perfectly. He has a short tail that’s completely black.
Personality: (Quick reference: Eccentric, has the tunnels memorized, socially inept, often quiet, cares deeply for the clan, enjoys hunting alone)
Eccentric is the most concise word to use to describe this large Tunnelclan warrior. He seems to hear a different drum to march to than the rest of the clan, and spends much of his time either alone or at the outskirt of a group, listening in. He works better with abstract ideas than with others, better at being alone than being a part of a group.
Twigstripe speaks rarely, probably because most cats don’t often speak to him. He doesn’t seem to mind, and speaks slowly when he does in a deep, rumbling meow. He is often engaged in an internal dialogue and sometimes forgets when he doesn’t speak out loud. When he does speak, he often picks up and drops the conversation at odd points, leaving him socially inept. This outcasted and strange nature leaves him often out of the loop, and others rarely share tongues with him.
Out of touch and isolated is a state of being that doesn’t seem to bother Twigstripe. He cares deeply for his clan, but doesn’t understand social cues enough to know how to react around them. On the flipside, his odd personality leaves others unsure of how to work with him, and he can be frustrating at times, leaving him to work better alone. He’s an exceptional hunter, especially due to his outstanding memory – he knows the tunnels better than the most seasoned Tunnelclan cat. He enjoys being able to take care of the clan by doing his part to keep them well-fed.
History: Twigstripe is an enigmatic cat who has a large portion of his life unknown to the clan. As an apprentice, he wandered off once, and got very, very lost. So lost that no cat could find him. Searches were made, but the tunnels seemed to have swallowed him. After a fruitless moon trying to find him, the clan believed him dead and sent their thoughts of him to Starclan.
Nearly two seasons later, he returned, his scent barely recognizable. But it was definitely their lost apprentice. Bedraggled but healthy, the clan rejoiced his return, but soon discovered the results of his long exile in the sewers. His social skills had dwindled into near non-existence. He knew the tunnels better than any other cat, able to get anywhere in the city without giving thought to the effort, but he could no longer fit into clan life normally.
He shows no signs of this bothering him. He's glad to be with his clan again, but isn't entirely sure of how to express this, so he spends much of his time bringing freshkill and leading cats to various city locales when needed.
Relatives: Twigstripe was born to a mute mother and had no father to look to, but two siblings, Daybreak and (undecided). Before his long venture into the tunnels, he got along well with them. After his return, he seems to communicate with them better than with others, but only barely, still awkward even with them. At least with his mother, though, he doesn't have to worry about feeling out of place in a conversation.
Other: His diet, oddly, consists of more bugs than freshkill, mostly because he likes to make sure the clan is well-fed, and he always waits until no one else is touching the freshkill pile to eat – but then, no other cats eat bugs, so he has no competition for the food. None of the other cats know of this particular trait.
