Name & Clan: Shimmerpelt - Tunnelclan
Age: Adult
Gender: Female (She-cat)
Allegiance: Tunnelclan
Rank: Warrior
Description: Shimmerpelt has a solid dark gray coat, which, true to her name, has an unusual shine to it. She keeps herself well-groomed, but most of the sheen comes from her skill in swimming – she maneuvers the sewers with deft skill, unafraid to get into the deeper sections, and is often sleek from the water. She has bright yellow-green eyes and ears that always seem to be alert.
Personality: (Quick reference: Elitist, controlling, prideful, overly protective of clan, serious, charistmatic, cold, very in-charge personality)
Control is the word of Shimmerpelt’s life, with pride a close second. As a kit and apprentice, she devoted herself to learning self-control along with the warrior’s code. When she became a warrior, she channeled that same energy into proving herself, set on becoming the greatest warrior in order to protect Tunnelclan. During this time, she developed an intense pride in being a Tunnelclan cat; after her first Gathering, this thought cemented in her mind and she soon developed her current mantra.
Tunnelclan has adapted the best. Tunnelclan is the best. Tunnelclan deserves the best.
After adopting this mantra, Shimmerpelt’s drive turned from self-control to control – the rest of her clan had to come to this same realization and take what they had all earned. A stubborn streak in her left her impervious to criticism that she felt went against what she believed, and her growing confidence left her certain that everything she did was right. She has not felt guilt since her apprenticeship, and not ashamed since kithood. Her drive, however, left these sides of her personality buried under a warrior who would do anything for her clan and who earned respect. Any job left to her, she gets done, no matter the odds.
Serious, headstrong, and rigid, she was never a popular kit – many called her abnormal – but these same cats came to praise her seriousness when she finally became a warrior. Even the aggression that got her into trouble as an apprentice is something she can justify now, insisting it helps others learn to take care of themselves. She can justify most anything, and can easily come across as charismatic when she avoids bullying and boasting, and her strength of character is often praised. She tunes in acutely to the weaknesses of others, keeping this information stored away and ready to recall at a moment’s notice.
Nothing deters her: not attacks, not criticism, not punishment, nothing. She is rarely derailed in her thoughts or actions. She has no threshold for frustration, however. She will never concede to another point of view, especially in her beliefs that Tunnelclan is superior and that every cat must learn to take care of themselves and their clan, no matter their status. She avoids affection and intimacy, sharing tongues only because it is the way of things. She doesn’t trust any cat who comes to her with kindness or compassion, believing that deep down every cat thinks like her, and Starclan knows she’d never give anyone warmth.
History: Shimmerpelt has thus far, despite her over-serious nature, been one of the warriors in the background. This fact, however, has just imbued her with the desire to do more - she's determined to become a warrior cats will remember three, four, five generations from now.
(Will update with family information soon)
Relatives: (Still working - possible mother, father)
Shimmerpelt has always been hardest on those closest to her - and for such a cold cat, there are none close but kin. Her sister, Dawnhaze, was a weak kit who had to work hard to become a warrior, and Shimmerpelt made sure her sister worked hard. To other clan cats, it probably appeared to be a sister working hard to ensure the safety and strength of her weaker sister, but Dawnhaze realizes, in the back of her mind, that Shimmerpelt only put forth the effort so she wouldn't have a weakling related to her.
She's proud of her first apprentice, Rustpaw, but the closer Rustpaw comes to becoming a warrior, the harder Shimmerpelt pushes her, determined to start leaving a powerful legacy.
