Petalpaw bounded into camp, full of energy, looking excited. With a squeal she skidded to a stop in the middle of the camp. "Guess what? I found something really cool!" she yowled loudly, once she had emptied her mouth of her newly acquired something.
It was a small, flat Twoleg thing that was shaped like a circle with a rectangular end sticking out of it. The thing was opaque silver in color, a little like a cat's eyes reflecting moonlight, and the end had little ridges in it. To nobody in particular Petalpaw said, "It was really hard to pick up... it was so flat I had to flip it with my claw and catch it." She demonstrated, picking the thing up again.
((OOC – Can anyone guess what it is? >< I don't think my descriptive skills are all that great... the word we Twolegs use for it starts with a K.))

((OOC| Haha, some poor Twoleg isn't going to be able to start their car or open their front door!
I'll bring Nightcrawler in later - should they already be mentor and apprentice?))
Slimpaw herad the yowling and commotion and poked a red-and-white face out of the apprentice den. "Oh, it's you Petalpaw." He shouldn't have been surprised. A frown touched his face as he studied the object she held. "Where did you get that?"

((OOC- Yay! ;D You guessed right! Hmm, you're the admin here =P Do they need a ceremony? On WC they don't 'cause the leaders are so flooded, but here it isn't that busy =D))
Petalpaw got to Slimpaw in a few wayward leaps, and then put the Twoleg thing on the ground again. She was slightly deflated at the lack of enthusiasm in the other apprentice's voice, but her excitement at finding the shiny object was still alight in her.
"Hi, Slimpaw!" she squealed happily. "I found it in the grass, near a Twoleg garden. I was looking for some catnip–" she stopped abruptly. She was meant to have been hunting, not looking for catnip! Glancing around to make sure nobody else had heard, she continued more quietly. "I was looking for catnip, but don't tell, alright? And I found this instead!" Stretching out a paw, she touched the object fondly. "I'm going to add it to the collection under my nest!"
Petalpaw owned a small collection of similar shiny Twoleg objects, which she kept under her feather-lined nest in the Mausoleum. It was poky to sleep on, but she felt happy when she was with all her strange things.
((OOC – she's getting weirder by the post. xP))

"Your... collection." Slimpaw stared at her for a moment then twitched his ears, remembering to try to be polite. "Of course, it's um... but... don't you think the Twolegs might need that... that... whatever that is?" He finished lamely, gesturing with a forepaw to the shiny thing.
((OOC| At this stage if she's been given the 'paw' name we can assume the ceremony to have taken place. All new kits should have this ceremony for now though when they ecome an apprentice))

"Yes, my collection! Don't you think it's so cool?" Petalpaw brushed aside some moss to reveal her stash of random objects, all shiny or feathery. She hardly noticed Slimpaw's brief stare.
She brushed off his objection. "Of course they don't," she scoffed. "Everyone knows that shiny things are only to bring us good luck. If you touch them often, you're less likely to be unfortunate! Twolegs use them for the same purpose, I reckon, and they have so many shiny things. I'm sure they don't mind sharing with us!"
Dropping the thing amongst her other items, and covering it back up again, she added, "Some kittypets even have things around their necks with little balls hanging from them. They make sounds, which is bad for hunting, but it shows Twolegs don't mind sharing with cats." She misread Slimpaw's doubtful manner as envy – a completely inaccurate guess – and immediately purred, "I can share with you, if you'd like, Slimpaw!" She was, of course, under the impression she was being generous.
((OOC – Okay! ^^))

Glaciergaze padded into the camp and dropped a fat rabbit into the fresh-kill pile. The taciturn tom looked around the clearing. His icy gaze, ironically, scorched who ever they fell upon. Seeing that most cats had eaten, the silver tabby picked up a mouse, and began gnawing on it hungrily.
