Silverstar lead her cats into the Mausoleum and paused to sit near the entrance. Yellow eyes watched as they poured into the camp as she quietly counted her warriors to make sure all had returned. Satisfied with the last head counted she made her way silently to the Smoothstone, mounting it with one powerful leap. She waited until her deputy, Crowfoot, settled at the foot of the Smoothstone with their Head Medicine Cat, Ghosteye. Then in a clear, steady voice she called out to her Clan.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Smoothstone for a Clan meeting."
((New members welcome to enter ICly at this meeting. -- If there is a character of mine you’d like to interact with but I haven’t posted an entrance for please feel free to approach them ICly as if I had! I have too many characters (my fault entirely) to post an entrance for each at every Clan meeting but ICly they would have attended. At least this one since the only one not in camp would be my current Moonguard. I‘m only posting the current most important characters such as Clan Leaders and such. (I‘ll be glad when I pass on these potions! Ug, too many Leaders!) In the future I may list OOCly which cats are attending and which are not in addition to a few IC entrances. If any of that made sense.))

Whisperpaw bounded along with the rest of the clan - spending the journey back tapping Snakepaw at random intervals and getting ahead of him to just abruptly stop. "I'm no slowpoke," she whispered in her rasp meow, but a purr was audible behind the words.
She began to fidget when Silverstar called a meeting - she had just been through everything first hand! Her tail and ears drooped at the thought of the imminent boredom. What to do, what to do...
She pounced on Snakepaw's tail tip while she was thinking of some way to pass the time.

A large silver-and-brown paw flashed out and cuffed Whisperpaw, claws sheathed, about the ears. "Can you sit still for half a minute?" Growled Shardclaw, sitting down by his apprentice. "I hope you didn't behave that idiotically at the Gathering. I don't want the other clans talking about my useless apprentice." He continued, watery blue eyes narrowed.
Streamfur hastened to join the small group. "She was very well behaved." The silver marble assured his brother. He glanced to Snakepaw to check on him. It had been his first Gathering and he worried how much it had taken out of him.
Bluepaw bounded over with an eager smile. To her it didn't, matter Snakepaw couldn't see it. "Snakepaw! How was it?" She asked ,settling at the brown tom's side and purring as she rubbed her cheek against his in greeting.
Primeheart, a towering blue tabby tom, emerged from the senior warrior's den and jumped easily to the floor. "Everything went as usual here, Silverstar." He addressed his clan leader with respectful nod. Bumblebee, a younger warrior who had been mentored by Primeheart, sat beside him.
Shadowfur sat beside her family, her own father Darkfur and her three kits, who were now apprentices. Nearby were another sibling group of apprentice., red tabby Slimpaw and his sisters, Magicpaw and Ravenpaw.

The young brown tabby's patience with his fellow apprentice was waring dangerously thin. He was tired from the journey, sure he'd stepped on StarClan knew how many rocks on the way, and about ready to claw Whisperpaw's eyes out for all the damn taunting. Snakepaw jumped as the other apprentice pounced on his tail tip, and he whirled around with a furious hiss. "Get lost, fox-dung!" he spat, lashing out at her suddenly. He was so sick of this!
A sweet, friendly voice stopped him from lunging at the she-cat, and Snakepaw turned his sightless, green gaze towards the sound. Bluepaw... His tense shoulders slumped at she rubbed her cheek against his, a soft purr rumbling in his throat. "Terribly. Little Whisperpaw here spent the entire time trying to trip me or confuse me, I got yelled at by...RootClan's deputy - I think - for defending myself when...Bronzestar, HillClan's leader - I think - said something about a blind cat being an apprentice, and then there was this creep prophecy about change and storms and stuff that got everyone on edge. And then there was the trip home with fox-dung." he grumbled, tail lashing agitatedly.
A ginger she-cat bounded over, shouldering past Ravenpaw, to stand with Bluepaw and Snakepaw, putting herself between Whisperpaw and her brother. Casting a quick, cold glare at the other apprentice, she butted her brother's shoulder affectionately. "Shoulda' known you'd be the type to have something against your first gathering!"

Whisperpaw grumbled under her breath as a paw caught her squarely near the ear. The tiny apprentice stumbled back a paw step, shaking her head hard and glaring at her mentor through narrowed eyes.
She nodded emphatically at Streamfur's words. "And... if you'd gone, you'd know that." It was rare she said so much at once, her voice rasp as she struggled to make sure he heard that.
She gave an agitated flick of her tail as the other apprentices streamed out. Luckily, she'd missed most of Snakepaw's lashing for Shardclaw's - well, maybe that wasn't so lucky. She returned Squirrelpaw's glare with one of her own, fur fluffed - making her almost as big as the others. She hated her size! And how unfun the other apprentices could be.
She slowly sat down, focusing hard on keeping still, though her tail still lashed. I'm not useless. I'm not stupid. I'm not fox-dung. I'll show them.

Adderfang flicked Whisperpaw with her tail. "A good warrior is not only one who does not know fear, but also one that does not know anger." She looked seriously a Whisperpaw. "Anger is your worst enemy. If you let feeling get into you too much, then your combat will be corrupt. Then you will not be victorious." She looked back at Silverstar.

Petalpaw dreamily padded to the Smoothstone, walking in a weird fashion and swaying her head as though there were butterflies swarming all around her. She was wide-eyed and looked fascinated by these invisible butterflies.
When she reached the Smoothstone she sat down, batting her paw around her head as though trying to shake the imaginary butterflies off. "Hello," she said almost wistfully, looking around as though she'd never been near the Smoothstone before. A look of surprise appeared on her face. "Oh, are they back yet? I didn't know!"

Bluepaw listened in dismay. She'd hoped Snakepaw would have enjoyed the Gathering. "Oh, I wish I could have come with you." she murmured, shooting Whisperpaw a dirty look. She didn't sound like she'd been very understanding. "Don't worry about Whisperpaw, you know what she's like. A creepy prophecy... what was it about?"
Shardclaw snorted and shook his head. "You'e got a long way to go, kit." he grunted, sitting beside Streamfur, who cast a look over his shoulder at Whisperpaw with worry in his blue eyes.
Ravenpaw, sitting near Petalpaw, snikered. "You wouldn't" She snorted, and her sister Magicpaw elbowed her firmly. "Leave her alone." The more tolerant sister meowed to the sharp-eyed tortie.

Whisperpaw flinched away from Adderfang, back on her paws once more. She rolled her eyes at the warrior's words, giving her head a shake, but not wanting to go on in her rasp voice. She'd said too much tonight already.
She glowered at her mentor. "Warrior soon enough," she whispered - not by choice, but her throat was bothering her again. She flicked her tail toward Bluepaw - she couldn't wait for the next time the apprentices sparred. She'd show them then. She turned her head toward Smoothstone, trying that focus thing one more time.

Snakepaw sat himself down, tapping his sister's shoulder with his tail in greeting. "About change and a storm of some sorts. It was really weird, too, 'cause the Moonguards that were meant to return from Moonecho never did." he answered, ears twitching slightly.

"What's that you said about the Moon-guards?" Elmshade meowed sharply, padding up to sit beside Snakepaw. Her eyes were narrowed. That was news indeed.

"That is weird!" Bluepaw meowed in surprise. All four of them hadn't returned? For comfort, she pressed her flank to Snakepaw's side. Hearing Elmshade, she turned her head slughtly. "The Moonguards didn't return from Moonecho." She told the warrior.

"This moon's Moonguard still went, right?" Elmshade asked, forcing herself to relax. "StarClan go with them." She muttered under her breath, then looked back up at the apprentices. "This is really strange. Did anyone say why?"

Snakepaw licked Bluepaw's cheek shyly as she pressed against his side. "How would any of us know? None of them turned up at all. All the other Moonguards still went." he muttered, tilting his ears towards the warrior.

Silverstar huffed a small, quick breath in thought. The clan were visibly upset, needing reassurance, and she felt they need to actively keep busy and do things so keep them occupied.
"I shall lead a small patrol tomorrow. We will check at Moonecho, and see if there is any trace of the missing Moonguards. Crowfoot will remain in charge of the camp." She nodded decisively, then jumped down from the Smoothstone to signal the end of the meeting. Her gaze flicked over her warriors, deciding who to take with her the following morning.

Snakepaw yawned, ears twitching at Silverstar's decision. It was probably a good idea to send a patrol to check on the Monnguards, find out what had happened...
Squirrelpaw sat bolt up-right, forest green eyes bright, hopeful. She wanted to go! It was so rare to see where Moonguards spent their time each moon.

Whisperpaw would have normally hoped to be an apprentice picked for such a mission -- but she barely heard their leader's words, still smoldering. The tiny apprentice stalked off the moment Silverstar ended the meeting. She didn't want to be around her mentor or the other apprentices, still store from all the verbal jabs.

((Assuming apprentices don't have to go to Moonecho to be made warriors....like the custom in the books that was later dropped!
If they do have to, I'll edit my post!))
Elmshade's pulse raced at the thought. The sacred Moonecho, the site of so many tales and speculations...She had never been there before.
She wanted to go, so badly.
But still, she was a young warrior. Undoubtedly Silverstar would prefer someone with experience, someone she knew she could depend on.
Unconsciously, Elmshade sat straighter, trying to look older and more experienced.

((OOC| No, they don't have to have gone. I'd say in City Warriors they would do patrols outside their territory anyway, so that could be a chance for apprentices to gain experience ) Silverstar glanced over her clan, mentally choosing cats. Squirrelpaw because it would be good experience for her... but a few warriors too, so that if they ran into trouble, they'd be able to look after themselves. "Yes Squirrelpaw, you may come. Elmshade and Primeheart, too. At dawn tomorrow, and Crowfoot will organize the usual dawn patrol. That's all." Silverstar jumped down from Smoothstone. Bluepaw nudged her friend lightly. "Lucky thing. A patrol with Silverstar!" she whispered, eyes shining for a moment. She wondered if she and Snakepaw had been passed over because of his blindness, then dismissed the fact. Silverstar wasn't like that... she couldn't lead a patrol outside the territory just of apprentices, anyhow.

Squirrelpaw grinned up at her leader, forest green eyes bright. She batted playfully at Bluepaw, laughing softly, "I'm more interested in seeing Moonecho!" she whispered back, whiskers twitching.
Snakepaw turned his head towards his sister, smiling at her. At least I can sleep in now.
