Longpaw was impressed. His own sharp ears were picking out a nearby scuttle that told him there was a vole about - but snowflakes had started to fall a bit more thickly now, muffling everything. He hoped she wasn't getting too cold.
"Can you hear anything?" He murmured in a barely audible tone.

"Can you hear anything?"
Straining her ears she closed her eyes, hoping the darkness would help her concentrate, and it did, slightly. Peeping her eyes open she nodded, pointing over with her tail at a small mouse that stood stiff, it's wide eyes on them.
Opps. She must have stepped on somthing. Sheepishly she shrugged as it scurried off, "sorry."

He waved his pale tail and chuckled. "We've all done it. Don't worry." He gestured for her to continue. "Try once more then we'd better head back. Someone's going to notice you're missing son!" He glanced at the sky, and flattened his ears thoughtfully. It was clouding over. Best not to be out in the rain or worse, snow.

Glancing nervously up at the darkening sky she nodded, she didn't want to get caught out in the rain or snow any more then he did. She hated the cold.
Turning back to the task at paw she sniffed cautiously at the wind, moving stalking unsteadily forward. But this time so scents came to her nose, nor any sounds. It seemed as if all had fled, the upcoming storm might have scared them all off.
Twitching her ears in disappointment she straightened turning to face her friend with a shrug. "We should head home. I can practice every day now!"
Forgetting her disappointment she danced around Longpaw, grin back where it should be. "Thanks so much for teaching me Longpaw! When ever I learn to hunt I'll catch a rabbit just for you!" she promised.
