The half-moon hung in the air as a perfect circle, lighting the way - along with the numerous street lights - to the Moonecho.
Wolverineclaw was on guard by one of the gaps in the fence, the big red tom's long fur shining dully. He was on high alert after the recent dog attacks. He spotted a mostly white figure approaching - this was Dusktail, the Tunnelclan lead medicine cat.
"Wolverineclaw." Greeted the silver-tailed tom to the much larger one. Wolverineclaw dipped his muzzle. Gruff he was, gut he respected medicine cat. "You're the first. Stick close - we've had trouble." He warned.

Dragonmoon limped along, having left RootClan's camp earlier than usual, her blue eyes catching sight of Wolverineclaw's silhouette. The colour-point sighed, relieved her long journey was almost over. Her leg was aching, and Leafbare had only just begun. So far, though, no serious snow storms, and RootClan was managing - no one had fallen ill just yet.
The Head Medicine Cat glanced back behind her. Fawnpaw should be coming tonight. The silver-faced she-cat paused, blue eyes flicking to each edge behind her, looking for the younger cat. Was it that hard to keep up with her?

(*late*)
A moment later the small flame-point apprentice scampered up next to Dragonmoon, her fur full of brambles. Being the klutz she was, she had tripped into a thorn bush not far back. Sitting down next to her mentor, she started to groom the burrs out of her pelt. "Sorry, I got...Held up."
Another limping cat joined the group. Frostguard leaned heavily into one of his front paws. His shoulder looked sunken and weak, where the bullet from a BB-gun had damaged his muscles. Giving the others who had gathered a curt nod, the white CrowClan tom sat himself down with a grunt.

Wolverineclaw had been keeping watch from the hole in the fence. "Looks like you're it. Go on ahead." He called gruffly. "I'll send any late arrivals your way." The red tabby glanced at Frostguard, amber eyes narrowing thoughtfully. But he said nothing.
Dusktail nodded his thanks to the Hillclan Moonguard and rose to his paws. "Dragonshadow, and Rootclan has another apprentice?" He gave her a friendly nod.

Dragonmoon chuckled softly at Fawnpaw, flicking the young cat's ear lightly, before her attention shifted to the CrowClan cat. She blinked at Frostguard, no sign of sympathy or anxiety in her eyes. She knew what it was like to be crippled - she'd never wanted anyone's sympathy or worry, and CrowClan was a proud group.
Her blue eyes flicked up to Wolverineclaw, their depths catching the moonlight and she nodded, nudging the new Apprentice. "Dragonmoon, Dusktail," she corrected, her tone friendly and a smile on her muzzle, "And yes, this is Fawnpaw RootClan's newest Apprentice." There was a pause. "Sunfeather has disappeared... As has Dapledshade. Both without a trace or parting word."

Fawnpaw dipped her head to Dusktail, feeling her face grow hot. It was her first ever meeting; what if she did something wrong? She shuffled her paws nervously and avoided eye contact with the others. It was going to be a long night.
