Name & Clan: Rootpelt - Rootclan
Age: Elder
Gender: Female (She-cat)
Allegiance: Rootclan
Rank: Elder (Ex-Deputy)
Description: See below.
Personality: Rootpelt is strong willed, stubborn, and above all else loyal to her Clan, the Warriors Code, and the old traditions.
Having a strong sense of tradition, like her parents and grandparents before her, Rootpelt has a strong distaste for unnecessary change and even slight hostility towards anything that may break tradition.
While she may have let her beloved Apprentices move on with their lives to become Warriors she still keeps a close eye on all of them. Being quick to scold them and a bit more protective of their wellbeing then others. She seemed particularly hard on Goldstar, though he didn’t seem to particularly mind and tended to shrug off any harsher tones in her voice. As she gets older she seems to become more and more nitpicky.
History: Rootpelt had been a normal, average kit. The only thing above average about her was her unfailing health. She rarely ever got sick, even avoided catching greencough one season when it broke out across camp, and she seemed to have an endless amount of stamina. However, this unwavering health seemed to falter in one aspect which she later found out as an adult. Rootpelt could never have kits of her own having been unknowingly barren.
As an Apprentice she excelled, learning quickly and relying on her unwavering stubbornness to get her through tougher times. It came as no surprise to her mentor that she’d be announced a Warrior at a young age.
Throughout her Warriorship Rootpelt proved time and again a formidable enemy to those who crossed her or her Clan but even more so an excellent mentor. As soon as her current apprentice gained Warriorship she would request to train another. She treated her apprentices fairly but always with a firm paw, and adjusting her training tactics with each individual apprentice. Though some apprentices may have called her harsh when it came to reprimands she found great pride in their accomplishments and made sure they knew when she was proud of them every time they did something right. Because of her inability to have kits of her own Rootpelt tend to always look upon her apprentices as her own kits, becoming fiercely protective of them like a Queen while they were under her care.
Rootpelt was made Deputy late in her life, announced as the new deputy when Goldstar, one of her very first appearances, took up Leadership. Rootpelt was rather surprised by this but she took to the new responsibilities with more or less ease. Even finding comfort in caring for the whole of the Clan where she was unable to with kitting.
Rootpelt should have been an Elder long ago. But her health, and undoubtly her stubbornness, has kept her a Warrior and the current Deputy to this date. But even she has to admit her stamina is beginning to ebb and it wont be long before she would have to step down from her place.
